What is the best antenna to use with a converter box?
Anyone living in Elyria, Ohio with a converter box? How many channels should we be getting? Do you know if the antenna makes a difference in the number of channels that you get?
What should I use to mount my TV antenna?
Just looking for some ideas here. I need something cheap and durable from the hardware store to mount my TV antenna on. I finally got my converter boxes hooked up but I can't get signal since there are lots of buildings around where I live. Plus I live in a valley so the reception sucks.I'm thinking of using some dowel poles or some metal piping. Remember, it has to be cheap and durable. Length isn't an issue as I have roof rails for my car to haul it home.I plan to move it around some, from house to house so it's not being attached to the house or put in the ground. I'm going to use rope, hooks, and stakes like you see on some radio towers.
No TV audio when changing from complicated cable setup to plain ol' antenna?
We had an expensive, rack mounted home theater setup with cable. The company that set it up and programmed the remote is now out of business. We finally got tired of paying for cable, so I bought an external antenna and connected it. Picture looks great, but no sound at all yes, I've tried the easy stuff like mute, different channels, etc. and I do get sound from the DVD player .I'm assuming that it is some silly cable connection I need to the AV receiver, or some setting that needs to change for antenna instead of cable. I also understand that there are probably a ton of different potential problems settings...but I'm just thinking it is the simplest and most obvious that I'm missing or did wrong .I'm also assuming that a " generic" answer can point me in the right direction, I'm not expecting somebody to figure out my exact Marantz receiver or Panasonic Plasma, etc. Just something like " hey dummy, look for something called 'xxx' on the TV and connect that to 'yyy' on the receiver, and make sure you set the audio on the receiver to 'zzz'...I did my best to figure that out on my own, but I guess technology has passed me by.Any thoughts would be much appreciated, and this is my first Yahoo Answers question, so if I've missed any rules like babbling too much , go easy on me Thanks,Scott

I live out in the boondocks, so with this USB card, it only shows that I have about 30% signal, so I am looking to buy an antenna for it. With the 30% signal, what size antenna should I get? I poked my eye with my car antenna?
Ok well my mom was coming back from her walk, and the car antenna was sticking out, and poked into her eye. She says it is very painful, irritated, and red. How long will it take for it to heal? and What should she do?? Note This just happened.
Why does my headset sound like a T.v without an antenna after a while (happens only when I play games)?
You know that sound on old t.v's without antennas? What cable should I use to connect my antenna to my router?
I need to attach my router antenna that is mounted outside my house, to my linksys router located inside. The distance it needs to cover is about 10 feet. The connector on my antenna is N Female. The connector on the back of my linksys router is TNC male. This is going to be for 768Kbps internet access.I have found RG 6 Quad Shielded coaxial cable and that looks like the best cable for my situation. If this is not the best, please inform me.What is RG 8?Thanks in advance
Energy Harvesting Antennae?
I am a participator in TSA and am going to do a challenge involving skills in electronics and applications of it. I was wondering if anyone could guide me on how to harvest energy from ambient radio waves, much like the new nokia prototype phone. It would be for a simple device, most likely powering LED's but would be a real thriller to figure out how to build. Can anyone tell me how to or guide me to somewhere to show me how to build an antennae for harvesting energy.
