Ok, So How Do I Connect My Transmitter To My Antenna For Best Signal?
I'm trying to connect my RF Transmitter to a specific 433 MHz Antenna. I'm not using a standard SMA connection directly to the device. I will have to use some sort of wire to connect the two together. So far I have already asked.1. Does coiling an antenna wire effect signal?answers.yahoo.com question index ylt AuJNsbq86SBRXEtHrO6oZ8rsy6IX ylv 3?qid 20081128222400AA7X0fz2. Does the length of the wire from the DEVICE to the ANTENNA matter?answers.yahoo.com question index ylt Aj8hKJjckGefhjqMRrKP2wPsy6IX ylv 3?qid 20081129121550AA0zvL0I received very helpful responses so far.I now understand why coax cables are generally used for these applications, however it is under a small enclosure. The wire only has to be about three inches . I was originally going to use a wire from a cat 5 cable, cut the wire into a whip antenna for 433 Mhz, and use that to connect the two device together. I'm not sure if that would work.If I solder a regular copper wire to connect the two, will that reduce the signal? By How much? If not, what is the best method? Or would it not matter? Also, concerning the cat 5 cable idea. I was also going to coil that wire.I know I'm going the right direction but I needed to be sure. Thanks for your suggestion, but what is a pig tail end?Never mind, pigtails are the connectors I believe. Such as RP SMA, RP TNC, and N Type
